What do you mean by "Note that you'll have to install future updates with this method too, although you shouldn't need to uninstall it first"? My TV has a dedicated USB port, but the Firesticks need an OTG adapter to read from a memory stick. Alternately you could do what I do, which is to use my laptop to download APKs to a flash stick, but that requires you to use a USB-OTG wye cable with a Firestick. The default download location is /storage/emulated/0/Download/. Of course, there is nothing stopping Amazon from closing this loophole in future too.īasically used whichever web browser you have installed (such as Silk Browser, the default on FireTV) on your FireTV device to find and download the Launcher Manager APK. I'm very interested to see if this works for all FireTV devices, but there's no reason it shouldn't since it's exactly the same problem (button remapping) that Elias had with his APKs, and AFAIK that workaround is good on all FireTV devices.

My Home button goes to Wolf Launcher, not the default launcher. Yes, I tested it before posting on my week-old Amazon Omni FireTV Edition running the latest FireOS version.
